Tips on buying foam-filled beanbag-type products:
Don't assume that all foam-filled bean bag chairs are the same. They can be quite different.
Foam is very difficult to work with and measure correctly. The type of foam and the amount of foam are both very important. Corda-Roy's only uses brand new, furniture-grade foam from the largest foam fabricator in the US and we fill our chairs using a double-measuring method involving weight and volume.
If you decide that you'd like to add some extra support, Corda-Roy's liners are locked but still allow adult access to the foam so that foam can be added for extra support or removed for a softer feel. Generally this depends on the body weight of the user. This feature is exclusive to Corda-Roy's.
Packaging:
Love Sac and most other companies use high-powered vacuums to vac-pack their chairs as tightly as possible to save on shipping. This make them EXTREMELY difficult to assemble. Corda-Roy's products are also vac-packed but we allow them to expand slightly inside the box so that the assembly process is much easier and the foam takes less time to regain its fluff.
Outer covers:
Since these products can weigh 50 to 75 pounds it's extremely important that the covers be double stitched. Most companies only single stitch their covers in order to save money, but you will notice the seams "grinning" at you just before they start to come apart. Not to mention, they are just unattractive and cheap looking.
